Street Closures

The following streets will be closed as indicated:
Wednesday, September 23, 2009
10:00 AM
(1) Williams Avenue from Church Street to Monroe Street
(2) All lanes of Monroe Street from Clinton Avenue to Williams Avenue and south on Monroe Street to north of the round-about, north of Saint Clair Avenue. Access will be maintained to the Scruggs Community Center, the James A. Williams Aquatic Center and the Embassy Suites. Access to the Holiday Inn will be maintained from Lowe Avenue throughout the festival. A programmable message board will be placed at the round-about and on Lowe Avenue indicating this information. The parking lot of the Scruggs Community Center and the James A. Williams Aquatic Center will be used for handicapped parking for the festival.
6:00 PM
(1) All lanes of Monroe Street from Holmes Avenue to Clinton Avenue. Access to the Monroe Street entrance to the bus station will be mantained throughout the festival.
(2) All lanes of Clinton Avenue from Woodson Street to Church Street. Access will be maintained to businesses on Clinton Avenue as per the timetable agreed upon by the businesses and the VBC until Friday when the street will be closed to all traffic.
(3) Lowe Avenue will be closed from Williams Avenue south to just north of the southern most entreance/exit to the Holiday Inn.
(4) All lanes of Pollard Street from Holmes Avenue to Clinton Street, except for employees of Big Spring Inc.

Close the southbound parking lane of Church Street from north of the canal to 100 feet north of Williams Avenue. Public access will be maintained to the front entrance of the Museum of Art and parking will be available to the general public on Church Street in front of the museum. Close the southbound outside lane of Gallatin Street from 20 feet south of Williams Avenue to 220 feet south of the intersection for bus parking for the WDRM stage.

Heart of Huntsville Drive may be closed and reopened when deemed necessary by the Huntsville Police Department. Any closure may be either full or partial as circumstances dictate. Notification of any closures and reopening will be made to all emergency responder departments and to Big Spring Jam personnel.
